The following databases may be accessed by students at school and at home. Click here for user names and passwords for all of our online resources. Passwords may also be obtained from the Library Learning Commons or downloaded from the Library Handout folder.

Global Issues in Context Offers global perspectives on issues of international importance and current world events and topics in the news related to these issues. Modern World History Covers the people, places, and events in the broad expanse of history—from the mid-15th century to the present.
Our Ontario Delivers one search access to digital collections of government documents, images, maps, videos, text, podcasts & more. Teen Health & Wellness Provides curricular support and self-help on topics including diseases, drugs & alcohol, nutrition, mental health, family life, sexuality and more.
Maclean's Archives
Online archive of every article published in Canada's national newsmagazine since 1905. Naxos Music Library The world's largest classical music library offers streaming access to more than 1,572,700 tracks. Also features jazz, classic rock, and background information.

Advanced Placement Source Designed to meet the needs of high school students enrolled in Advanced Placement or International Baccalaureate programs, this database contains more than 4500 full-text journals and magazines dating back to 1985. Canadian Points of View Reference Centre Provides students with a series of essays that present multiple sides of 185 issues.
Canadian Reference Centre This database includes leading Canadian and international periodicals as well as many Canadian reference books and an image collection containing more than one million photos, maps and flags. The collection also includes images from Canadian Press. History Reference Centre Contains full text for thousands of primary source documents, journals, reference books, etc.
Literary Reference Centre Contains information on thousands of authors and their works through literary journals, reference works, author interviews, etc. Link to Science Reference Centre This research database contains more than 200 science periodicals as well as reference books, biographies, and images.

 Novels for Students logo and link  The library has purchased volumes 30-34 of Novels for Students in eBook format.  Llink to Orca ebooks Young adult novels published by Orca Books. These may be read online or downloaded onto an ereader or other device. Download the free Publizard app!

The following encyclopedias may be accessed by students at school and at home. Check with Library staff for user IDs and passwords for home use, or look in the Library Handout folder for Passwords for Online Resources.

 Link to Canadian Encyclopedia  Available in French and English. No password required.
 Link to Funk & Wagnalls Encyclopedia  A general reference encyclopedia.
 Link to Universalis Junior  French language learning tool appropriate for grade 9-10 Core French students, contains encyclopedia articles, atlas, news, and a French-English dictionary.
 Link to Encyclopédie Universalis An extensive collection of French language resources appropriate for grade 11-12 Core French and all Immersion students. In addition to 38000 encyclopedia articles, it contains an atlas, timelines, news and current events, and multimedia.
