HOPE: Youth Connections Ottawa

Two wonderful clubs at South Carleton are joining forces to focus on similar goals. The H.O.P.E club (which stands for Helping Other People Everywhere) and the former S.O.S club (Sources of Strength) will combine and become HOPE: Youth Connections Ottawa.

Youth Connections Ottawa is a citywide organization directed by the Ottawa Public Health department and is committed to running mental health programs in many schools. The goal of Youth Connections Ottawa is to embed mental health connections and resources into our community.

HOPE will join the Youth Connections Ottawa team and focus on mental wellness, social issues, and support of social causes and charities.

The club will run activities and initiatives which will help promote mental health awareness and offer resources, as well as activities to help improve the mental health of our student body. We’ll also run fundraisers to support local and global causes and charities and continue to raise awareness about social issues.

Student members are welcome to participate in the activities that interest them the most. We will meet on Fridays at lunch in room 19C.

Please see Ms. Eady, Ms. Welch or Ms. Pattison for more details.
