The Commencement Ceremony for the Class of 2017 will be held Thursday, June 29 at 7:30pm at Longfields Davidson Heights Secondary School.
All students attending Commencement must rent a gown through the school. You may order your gown in the Library Learning Commons from April 3-13. The cost is $50 - $40 if you paid your student fees. Cash, cheque, or debit accepted.
Invitations to Commencement will be mailed after Easter. Before returning the RSVP card and receiving their tickets, students must meet the following requirements:

During the morning of Thursday, March 30, while grade 10s are writing the OSSLT and grade 9s are pursuing Link Crew activities, grade 11 and 12 students will have the opportunity to participate in Discovery Day. Click HERE

This Earth Hour, WWF-Canada calls on people across the country to join others around the world to send a strong global message. The 11th annual Earth Hour takes place at 8:30 p.m. local time on Saturday, March 25, 2017. Six continents, over 170 countries, and 24 time zones will be united as a global community, making our voices heard through individual action. Turn off as much power as you can and focus on your commitment to climate action for the rest of this year.
The OCDSB will be celebrating Earth Hour on Friday, March 24 from 1:00 to 2:00 pm. The Green Team encourages you to pull up the blinds and turn off the lights. Use natural daylight instead of electricity.

Summer Camps at Ottawa U
Ottawa University is holding summer camps for students in kindergarten through grade 11. The camps focus on science and engineering. While there are off-campus camps for younger children, all the camps for high school students will be held on the Ottawa U campus, 800 King Edward. The cost is $270/week. Upcoming Writing Contests
The Canada 150 Creative Writing Competition
, hosted by Carleton University's English Department and the Ottawa International Writer's Festival, students are asked to write on the topic of “Canada: The Next 150 Years.” The contest is open to Ottawa area high school students in grades 9-12. Submissions may take the form of fiction, creative non-fiction, or poetry. The deadline for submissions is April 1, 2017

Each fall, parents of students at South Carleton H.S. are asked to pay a voluntary school activity fee of $30 (to a maximum of $60 per family). The purpose of this fee is to support school events designed to enrich the student experience through involvement in extracurricular events. More information...
Students who have paid their student fees are often offered discounts on ticket prices for school activities in recognition of this contribution. Student fees may be paid with cash, a cheque made out to South Carleton High School, or debit.
