School Council

All schools in the Ottawa-Carleton District School Board should have an advisory School Council to help increase communication between schools and their communities and to serve the needs of students. A School Council liaises through the school principal and is an important link between parents and the school community.

Education is a partnership involving parents, families, students, teachers, principals, community, and school boards. As educational collaborators, School Councils provide advice on school matters to improve student achievement and strengthen the important relationship between schools, families, and their communities. All families have an equitable place in our schools’ communities and are welcome to participate in the School Council.

If you are interested in getting involved in your School Council, please contact your school principal.
