Stittsville High School - Ready for Opening September 2024
Work
is actively underway on the construction of the highly anticipated new
high school in Stittsville. Based on the current construction status
and schedule for completion, the building phase of the new school should
be completed in late spring 2024. The new school will be ready to
welcome students and staff in September 2024.
The
September 2024 opening date is one year later than what was anticipated
at the start of construction. The construction schedule was adversely
impacted by a number of factors including supply chain challenges and
recent labour disruptions in the construction industry.
For
the 2023-2024 school year, attendance boundaries for schools in and
around the Stittsville community will remain status quo. Additional
information related to the school opening will continue to be shared
with the community to ensure a successful transition and opening for
September 2024.
Following
the Ministry of Education announcement of capital funding in March
2018, the Stittsville Community will be welcoming a new secondary school
(1,353 pupil places) to serve grade 7-12 students in the area. The new
school will be located at the southwest corner of Robert Grant Avenue
and Cope Drive. The opening date for the school is currently scheduled
for September 2023.
