As a Superintendent of Education, Mary Jane Farrish oversees support and supervision for Kindergarten to Grade 12 schools in Eastern Ottawa. She leads the OCDSB's Equity and Human Rights division. Mary Jane collaborates with departments across the OCDSB to support district commitments in the Strategic Plan and Board Improvement Plan for student achievement and well-being, and to ensure Roadmap milestones are being met.
Mary Jane has elementary and secondary teaching and administration experience in the Peel District School Board and Halton District School Board, where she was the administrator lead for the Education and Community Partnership Program and Equity and Inclusive Education. She is currently a Facilitator for the Supervisory Officers Qualification Program with the Eastern Ontario Staff Development Network.
Mary Jane is committed to school-level collaboration to reach the milestones in the OCDSB’s Indigenous, Equity and Human Rights Road Map. She supports the implementation of bias-free progressive discipline within policy revisions and operational practices.
Currently, she works in collaboration with partner agencies such as the Ottawa Network for Education (ONFE) and Educational Foundation of Ottawa (EFO) to support students and families in achieving their potential.
