About Nadia
Nadia is the Superintendent of Program and Learning for Kindergarten to Grade 12. She is responsible for all associated curricular areas, including assessment and evaluation, and is in her seventh year as a member of the OCDSB’s Senior Leadership Team.
Nadia is a graduate of the former Carleton Board of Education in one of the first years of Early French Immersion, and started her career as a French teacher. Prior to entering teaching, Nadia was an educational researcher connected to increased outcomes in mathematics and literacy. She has been a classroom teacher, Vice-Principal, Principal, system Principal of Curriculum Services, and a Superintendent. Additionally, Nadia was seconded full time to teach in the Bachelor of Education program at the University of Ottawa, and is an internationally certified Correcteur and Formateur for the DELF (Diplôme d’Etudes de Langues Secondes).
Nadia is the District lead for Board Improvement for Student Achievement and Well-Being (BIPSAW), and School Improvement Planning for Student Achievement and Well-Being (SIPSAW). She collaborates with all academic departments in support of quality professional learning, PA Day planning and learning, and professional learning for administrators and educators in support of increased student achievement and well-being. She has helped lead provincial work tied to the CEFR (Common European Framework of Reference), and serves on the French as a Second Language Provincial Working Group. In addition, Nadia co-led the destreaming of the two year kindergarten program in 2016, is currently the destreaming lead for the District for Kindergarten to Grade 12, and is looking forward to furthering this essential work in removing systemic barriers and structures that sift, sort, stream, and select students.
